Really good family hotels in/near london please
The Mrs has got a hospital appointment mid-November at the Royal National Orthopaedic in Middlesex.
As it is a bit of a hike from sunny Scotchland, we thought we might make a bit of a trip of it and spend a few nights down there.
We would have gone to Legoland as the rooms there have a parent bit and a seperate room for the wee one (3 year old) but sort of en-suite if you get the idea.
Anyway, it is annoylingly shut when we need to be there so any recommendations from the Scoobynet massive?
Would prefer Windsor/Middlesex way for outside london but we can always pack her on the tube from central london if need be. Stayed at the hotel at Chelski before but that wasn't exactly kid friendly from memory (no wee one then)
Ta!

Thnaks chap.
Just trying to do somethign other than Premier Inn. Nothing wrogn with them, just not that special. On the plus side you can get a triple room from them (wee one too small to have his own room of course)

Try Accor hotels, I use to work for them a few years back they've got a wide range of hotels, ibis, Novotel modern hotels and family friendly, Mercure boutique hotels and do family rooms, Sofitel St James hotel 5* hotel in central London though!

Elstree is a good suggestion. The hospital itself is in Stanmore and the route, handily , literally takes you right past the Hospital ( I once blew up a car right outside that hospital, fact fans ). You are also near to the A1 at Elstree, which you can hook up to the grab the M25 to get round to Legoland.
Other than that you could find somewhere round Watford way.

Living a couple of miles from the hospital I cannot recommend a hotel but if you stay anywhere near the hospital you are near to Stanmore Tube station which you can take to get into central london and where there will be lots to do with the little one.
Likes others have said if you are driving you will be most probably coming down the M1 which is very close to the hospitals location. Obviously if you decide to stay in central london the prices of the hotels will be more than on the outskirts.

Thanks all.
The plan is for the Mrs to go for her appointment Tuesday afternoon and for me to head into london witht he little one.
So it's either near Stanmore or in central london and her getting the tube out. So annoying that the Legoland hotel shuts early November or it would have been spot on!
Currently looking at the Crowne Plaza at Marlow.

Crowne Plaza in Marlow is nice, as is Marlow, but it's hardly London - it's much further out (west) of london than Stanmore is to the North.
I've been an occupant at RNOH for one of my (many) knee ops - great place but bloody miles out.
