Default Getting a little nostalgic

I am in the market for a new surround sound set up and will, if I can afford it try to buy quality items. I've been thinking of speakers and remember a pair of Sony AMP-66ES's I had years back. I loved them and the only reason I don't have them now is they were taken in a burglary.
I would love to get another pair but get the feeling I may have more chance of buying unicorn p**s
Are these speakers as good as I remember them to be and what are the odds of me finding some. Also thinking of the AMP-22ES as rears. Probably just as rare.

Would these speakers stand up to today's expectations?

I had some Celestion Ditton Speakers in the 1970's .... they would better many speakers produced today.

Not sure if E-Bay show these - they were sometimes attached to unwanted MusicCentres .... so, could be found very cheaply.

You don't 'need' to spend big money - just buy 'yesterdays' top models from an Audiophile!

Have a look at Bowers and Wilkins XT Range. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
