My Akita Update

My Akita Update
I started a post a few months ago about getting an Akita. Got lots of valuable feed back from people and as some of you may Know I ended up getting an American one called Zak. I put a pic up when he was a puppy.
As a puppy he has been fine, great round kids, adults and other dogs. Had no issues with him at all. Doesn’t chew anything in the house and is not aggressive towards anyone.
We have socialised him with other dogs, he plays with 2 German shepherds (both 2 weeks younger than him) a couple of times a week. They fight when they first meet but nothing to bad, then seem to play well after that. I have also had him at puppy classes and he has done well, no issue there with other dogs either, although he does tend to paw the other dogs in play.
So here is a recent pic (well its about three weeks out of date) not sure where the little puppy went ?
And another cheers to all those that helped me with my questions when I started looking .
Any more advice will also be well received. Things are going well at the momnet but im certainly no expert.

Hi there,
Dog looks lovely :-) Sounds like your doing well. When my akita was a puppy he used to bite / mouth everyone, so in the end everytime he did it I had to pretend to make a scream and cry. He soon stopped.
I love the colour. Going to keep his nuts ?? I suppose that is the next question.
Now evenings are getting dark, not sure if you are walking him yet, but firstly I used a harness, and I bike led lights on it. This made seeing him far easier.

I tried him on a harness when he was pup and he would not walk. Also the ppuppy class teacher (KC) said not to use a harness as it encourages them to pull. Not sure how true it is but he walks fine on a collar and lead. Also if its late at night i let him walk off the lead.
As for his nuts, we decided if he stays calm to get one or 2 litters off him (maybe keep a pup). But spoke to a bloke yesterday and he said they can change after a litter. Again not sure how true this is.
Gonna play it by ear for now.

I will put a few more up,
I would definalty recomend an Akita, Zak has fitted into to our life with no issue what so ever. I have not talked to as many people in my life when walking him, eveyone comes up to you, asks questions, plays with him takes pictures etc etc.
Not sure if we just got lucky but i dont have one negative word to say about him.
Although a bloke rouns the corner has a Jap Akita and he is not able to walk him with other dogs or people about.

As requested
He's playing here not attacking a little girl
Breaking the one rule the vet advised us on and that was keep him off the furniture. But he could not reach the laptop from the floor to be fair.

Collar is fine, harness is not really good for control. We use them for tracking, as it allows the dog to pull on the line hard without getting airway problems. If your dog walks fine on a harness then thats great - but it can often end up with them pulling.
Keep your eye on him, he may well become a bit more of a handful in about 6 to 8 months!
Try not to let him jump up too much in the first year. Hips can suffer - slowly build it up.
