Default Car charger fuse

Taken Sony ray charger with it's integral 1/4 amp fuse from car and put it in boat 12v cigar lighter iv installed . It's on its own circuit 10A circuit breaker , same rating as car ( what it says on the removable cap anyway)

In the boat fuse ( quick blow) goes straight away

There's nothing charging battery

Iv put a 2 amp quick blow and it's fine.

Should I put a slow blow 1/4 amp in there , am I going to damage phone ?

Well, you never know until you try it. If you find that it has damaged your phone, it would mean that your chosen amp wasn't right for it.

Good luck.

See, I told ya. You can't dread every little action of yours with the thought- "Oooh, I can't do this because it may end into a disaster." People wouldn't have built houses brick by brick, thinking it may fall on them one day. You have to take risks in life sometimes. If your current cheapo phone/charger blows up, no big loss. Just go out and buy yourself a brand new bling iPhone5 to keep up with these modern times.
