This is a long shot but worth a go... The Stroke Association.
Hi guys, I know this is a long shot but I am going to post anyway.
My 20 year old cousin, James, is a keen cyclist and he has cycled 2,000 miles from Cheltenham, England, all the way to Brindisi in Italy in 3 weeks. He left on 10th August and completed the sponsered cycle on 1st September, covering roughly 100 miles per day.
He had nothing more than a backpack and a tent, meaning that he was camping rough during the nights where ever he found most suitable, with the exception of a few nights where he treated himself to hostels and B&B's.
The route took him through England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Italy. This is a challenging route, taking in the hilly terrain of the Ardennes, Vosges, Black Forest, Alps (notably the 2,757m high Stelvio Pass, the highest in Italy) and Apennines. During his last 2 days, he covered 250 miles of Italian costline and sheer determination got him through.
His target was to raise £1000 for the Stroke Association, and he has so far raised £726.
If you would like to donate money, big or small, please visit his donation page, and you can donate via Paypal or card. The Stoke Association is an extremely good cause which funds crucial research into stroke prevention and treatment.

Not even a single reply yet? I know times are tough, but if I could get 10 or 20 people to each donate just £1, that's £20 in total and it all helps. I was a bit unsure whether to post this or not, but I really want him to reach the £1,000 target mark and he is close. I really want to try as much as I can, because Stroke has affected our family personally, hense the reason why we are supporting the charity.
All you need to do is visit http://www.justgiving.com/biketobrindisi and then click on donate if you would like. You can pay either by paypal or by card, and it is anonymous, or you can fill in the name field and leave your name or just put Scoobynet.
Thankyou

I think you misunderstood, he didn't donate ..

Ah sorry I misunderstood!
It is such a worthy cause and so much effort has gone into the sponsered cycle, I think a £2 minimum donation is well worth the effort of visiting the donation page and clicking donate! If we can get 20 members to each donate just £2 each, that's £40 and closer to that big £1000 target

Many thanks

Thankyou very much Laura
I posted this topic on 2 other forums that I'm active on (VXROnline and DetailingWorld), and combined with the 3 forums, we have almost raised an extra £100 for the Stroke Association.
Keep it coming guys, all donations are highly appreciated and I have made James aware of the topic Getting closer to that big £1000

I have just joined ScoobyNet and wanted to thank you all so much for your generous donations on my JustGiving page. I have been amazed by the response since my cousin Luke posted this topic online and am thrilled that the £1,000 target could soon be reached
If you'd like to view more photos from the trip, I've made them all publically viewable on my Facebook profile (and will be adding more in the next few days): http://www.facebook.com/jamesatrickey

But since the £1000 target hasn't been reached yet after completing the 2000 mile cycle, I decided to post it ...plus you guys can see for yourselves that the sponsered cycle was successfully completed and that any extra money we can get to help achieve the target is highly appreciated.
Thankyou I'm pretty sure it will stay open until the target is reached!
