Default Confused.com safe drivers

Has anyone noticed on the confused.com safe drivers advert the supposedly safe driver overtakes on the left hand side on a dual carriageway. Are confused.com endorsing this as a safe driving practice?

It's an example of the sort of behaviour that their boxes cannot detect and you can get away with

lol V true,
its a bit like they will be given to people that generally drive at 10 mph or more below the limit, cause lots of frustration & havoc behind them. We are all aware of the type, be completely unware of anything around them, go through red lights, pull out on people etc & cause others people to overtake them due to lack of propgress , possibly at inopportune times, but hey the box says they are a safe drive so they will be classed as one as they are not speeding.

It is acceptable to overtake on the left if the other vehicle is indicating a right turn, or you are in a heavy traffic stream which is crawling along.

Otherwise, as far as I can remember, you should not do it.

I don't know about their safe driving tips, as right or wrong that they may be I didn't notice it but I was very confused.com when their website returned an annual premium of £27657.60 for a 12year old Ford Focus 1.8 Diesel. Lol

But what if he is rushing a puppy to the vets? Or his wife to the hospital was a small human head popping out of her?

be afraid, be very afraid. in 20 yrs it will be compulsory on all new cars. just one more form of control to take away the pleasure of owning your own vehicle.

Why would he need to go 100mph

You don't have kids do you robsy? Pregnancy doesn't happen like it does in the movies

Why would you want to risk a heavily pregnant woman's life by driving at 100mph?

I would much rather a performance limiting device where I am physically incapable of breaking the law, than being spied on when I do.

Its just an innocent non threatening way to introduce something, and then make it compulsory.
You'll be tracked wherever you drive in years to come if the nation bends over and takes this scheme.

Which they generally will because we don't know how to stand up to things like this as a nation.

This is the beginning....

Phase 1: Offer it as an incentive
Phase 2: Make it prohibitively expensive not to use it
Phase 3: Make it easier to adopt by introducing it to all new car
Phase 4: Make it law

You are so naive Britain

i agree we really need to start protesting when things like this are forced against the populus. as soon as i saw the ad for this i thought "oh no!" that and the advert where the ford focus reverse parks into a parking space by itself and the guy driving sits back and smiles whilst looking amazed at his car parking itself for him. he wont be so smug in a few years when his car wont start and let him drive as it has detected that he is tired and has deactivated the ignition so he can go have an hours rest first.

You would still be risking her life driving at 70mph on a motorway

In the case of our second child, the Mrs casually said to me late one night, “I think you need to take me to the hospital”
We live about 25 miles away from the delivery unit in Hull which is along the M62/A63. So we set off. Things progressed quickly, very quickly in fact, so we did do more than 70mph that night. When you take the full picture in to account, it was the route which, in our opinion, presented the least amount of risk at the time.

I doubt we did 100mph, but it was probably getting on that way. The alternative of stopping on the hard shoulder or in a layby and waiting for an ambulance didn't really appeal to be honest.

Always run the renewal through Confused every year, and useally the current insurer will match the cheapest quote if it's from the same group, they even ask for the confused quote reference.

Saved £380 this year..."simples" oh no that's the other one

I hadn't noticed the inside pass but I did think that the 2 safe drivers "appeared" to be doing more than 30mph down the town centre road, also the big girl has stopped flashing her knickers

The pregnancy thing was the first thing I could think of. What if it was a choking child - 7mins before brain dead. Or a cobra bite... Sooner you get there the better. And it's very easy to do a ton when flooring it.
