Tragic news - Tony Scott found dead
Woke up to the sad news that Director, Tony Scott had committed suicide.
Such a waste and leaving a wife and children as well. It's such a shame people feel compelled to do this and that they cannot see a way out from whatever it is that is making their lives so unbearable.
A sad loss

Wonder why he jumped rather than OD in morhpine or something similar?
I can understand why he did commit suicide though, it's preferable to trying chemo and it not working, then turning into a husk of your former self, a loss of all dignity (wearing nappies, being spoon fed, basically reverting to a lifestyle of a baby) and total inability to do anything for yourself.
I've seen what a brain (plus other tumours) can do to someone who was, until diagnosed post-seizure, an apparently very healthy person; eg; playing ice hockey a couple of times a month. It's not pleasant in the least, for the person suffering and those around them who care about them.

My best mate's mother died of a brain tumour when he was 17 and she was 49. I can remember turning up at their house one day and Heather not knowing my name. There were at least six months from there that were incredibly harrowing for the whole family and it was, I'm sad to say, an undignified end. I get why someone would want to checkout and hope that the family would understand.

Don't life insurance policies, pensions, not pay out in the event of suicide? Could be expensive, or maybe his wealth was sufficient that such things were not necessary?
