Default Help for sleep issue

The little one wakes around 4am for a bottle and once i feed her, it takes me around an hour and a half to get back to sleep.

I'm quite sure the doctor cant do anything to help me, but is there anyone else with a similar problem and has taken or done something to help it?

Usually takes me a while to get to sleep at the start of the night too, but i put up with that, as i'm usually in bed during the week for around 10...

A routine for you is just as important as for your little one.

Can't help you with the 4am wake up, but this might help with the 10pm

Get in the habit of no TV / Stimulating stuff for 30-45 minutes before bed

Bath / pamper before bed to unwind, reading in bed helps (as does jiggyjiggy )

No caffeine after mid day

this often happens to me

after 5 kids (youngest are 6 yr old twins) my sleep pattern is shot to bits

quite often wake at 3.30/4.00am and can't get back to sleep till 5.30am

they way I cope is i listen to the radio -- and also am usually in bed by 10.00pm,

but it is really annoying sometimes, especially when work demands a 6.30 start to get to a meeting

Until the baby has settled into a better routine sleep in another bedroom as far away from the wife and baby as possible.

Only visit the marital bed when you need your manly desires serviced and then back into the other room to sleep. Make sure the wife tends to the baby quickly when it cries so as to minimise the risk of you being disturbed.

A man who has to go to work in the morning should not have to wake up and feed a baby, that is wimmin's work. Fact!

Then don't stop now! It's a slippery slope mate and there is no way back.

Have you tried dreamfeeding?
This worked a treat for us, we usually put him down at 7:30 but at 11-11:30 ish as we were going to bed, make up a nice warm bottle and give it to the baby while they are sleeping, they feed while sleeping putting them into a deeper sleep and making it through till 6;30 ish

Maybe something you could try?

Hope you sort it

Simple..

When you get back into bed, try lying right on the very edge

Eventually you'll drop off

Got my coat already

9oz?! I'm afraid we're not that lucky. Mia has had problems since she was born and takes max 5oz in a bottle and yes we do a dream feed at around 10-10.30.

Lately she's been putting on a BIT of weight, but was slightly underweight for most of her wee life. She's on soya milk now.

Try going to bed later. If you are in bed at 10 and then wake at 4, you've virtually had all the sleep you need. It's not surprising you can't back to sleep.
