Wtf, why do you need an auto litter tray.
If your not willing to do it the normal way, then why bother, not being funny.
IMO just get a normal litter tray and use catsan litter. It absorbes the smell better that all the other stuff out there. I don't use a scoop, just some kitchen paper and flush down toilet

I used normal £2.99 litter trays for my very well-behaved kittens (adult free moving, indoor and outdoor cats now) with scented tray liners and Tesco litter. I still keep 2 litter trays in the back of the house; just in case they need a potty in the middle of the night. They hardly ever need a wee or a poo in the middle of the night, mind. This automatic one seems like a damn good idea. Reviews seem to be quite satisfactory. One person even calls it life-changing! It has to be good for over a hundred quid. I may think about buying one for my kitties.

Nice, you let cats sh*t in a tray in your house, that's hygenic

Still better than the sh*tting in my ******* garden I suppose

That system has always worked well for our cats too.

It may work, but it's lazy and bone idle IMO.

Normal tray (we have the one with a separate lip that goes around the rim) from Pets at Home, and Sainsbury's or Waitrose fine clumping litter. Catsan is good, but it can be uncomfortable on their paws.

Definitely worth paying the little extra for a covered/hooded item. Cats quite like their privacy, and it has the added pluses of helping to contain the smell a bit, and also stops the litter from being flicked all over the place when the little critters cover up their doings (depending on how energetic the cat is about their toilette, the potential surface area it'll get spread over when they do this can be quite large, and continuously having to sweep it up gets very old very quickly).

LOL @ the convo between you and bustaMOVEs over a cat litter tray, Les.

He hasn't yet replied, but I guess its to do with that system you referred to. If it were this system, his response could have been different. Unless you did mean that system, which is acceptable in a free country; so is his dislike for that system. If you didn't mean to refer to that system, you need to clarify to him that you meant this system, not that one. Hope this is clear.

Sorry for late reply, missed the thread.
I'm not having a go at you.
But my response to that is, I don't justify spending that much money for a litter tray, also when I say it's bone idle I mean you don't do nothing for six weeks and then just change litter then instead of doing it the old fashion way by using catsan every few days or so, my responsibility as a cat owner is to service/feed and care whenever it is needed to do so.
I also don't use automatic cat feeding systems either
All this is my opinion aswell and we all can't agree on everthing

Yes ok.

Well we use large plastic trays and the Catsan type stuff. We change it whenever it gets used and the point is, it is somewhere the cats can use when they can't get outside for some reason. Ouir cats prefer to us our garden if they can anyway.

I'll read your post a few more times Turbohot until I get it straight in my head!
