Thumbs down Some idiot in white pyjamas......

...carrying a burning torch, just ran past my house.

I think it might have been an escaped lunatic, since the Police helicopter was tracking him/her.

Seriously: roads closed, council workers everywhere, police everywhere, local school kids sanctioned a day off to watch, (but they can't have time off to go on holiday with their parents....)

What the hell is this COSTING????

Most of it is sponsored anyway.

No point in being a miserable fellow about it really!

I look at it, sponsorship and all and I think:
What do normal people in this country get out of it, apart from paying for it?
And what does the north of England get, yet again?

I can think of hundreds of ways that amount of money could have been better spent.

But as the PM says, it will generate £13bn for the UK. It's only cost us £9bn that we know about

Great picture lol

I was trying to work out who it was until I realised the torch bearer is completely blocked by the security runner.

Also, the man in the background is quite funny, the one who's under the torch handle. I had to double take, looked like something out of wallace and grommit until I realised it was his hands and a camera. Looked like cartoon eyes and huge ears.

**** all, just the bill

Tower bridge rings - 300K!
Another example
Those torches - 8000 of them
Cost to produce is £495, and the bearers are allowed to purchase them for £215
There's another two and a quarter million wasted.

On another note has anyone seen the "olympic" lanes being painted on roads for 30 miles in and around London? £130 fine for being caught using them lol. Makes you wonder how the £13bn will be generated.

Why am i not surprised by the fine....
Does anyone wish this Olympics was already over with...
