Default Oil companies take the pi55

Oil is lower now than when this useles government took charge yet fuel is still at a ridiculous price, I hate the fact that in three months time they will add 3p a ltr to duty and won't care because if the price is lower they will presume we will be able to accept it without any complaints.

Don't know what you're talking about. Petrol's gone down 2p a litre here. Wahoo.

It's Treasure Island again.

The actual cost of the petrol is significantly lower than the taxes taken by the government.
Consequently, decreases in the price of oil don't have very much of an effect on what you pay at the pump.

Spot on. And that is crude oil which does not take into account refining and transport costs.
A 30% reduction in crude prices will have only around a 5-10% drop at the pumps.

Read somewhere recently that for every £60 worth of fuel £1.20 was oil company profit and £36 was Government tax!!

It's not oil companies taking the p!ss Steve, it's the government, unfortunately the population of this country aren't likely to do anything about it

What's needed is a good old fashioned cull, to remind MPs and the civil service of who works for who, lets put them in fear of not just their job, but their life

It is certainly long past time for a good clearout and to start again.

Who knows, we might even find some honest ones for a change!
