Used to go for weekend club exhibitions (Camber (?) + a couple of others). Pretty grim I'm afraid. Characterless and dirty. Fish & chips or burgers. Kids around 12 - 14 didn't mind it for a weekend but my Mrs would have hated it. Not sure what very young kids could do?

May have improved since I went.

Not for me either I'm afraid. Just don't see any point whatsoever going on holiday if you have to go there.

Don't you have to show your benefits book, rather than passport, to get in?

Hmmmm - were going to Perranporth on Friday!

Never been to one before, but thought it would a nice week away over the long Jubilee holiday with the kids - 6 & 8.... you've all got me worried now! lol

It was *fully* booked on the Sat to Sat, that's why we had to do Fri to Fri.

I mainly booked it as a poster on here in early March said he worked there, and they had spent £2million on the place over the winter....and it was sweet
And we have never been to Perranporth before & always watch it on Seaside Rescue! lol

uh-oh:

Camber Sands, Devon Cliffs used to be nice and were ok last time we went (many years ago)

If you have a family and want a resonable entertained holiday its either Haven or Pontins

Been to a few, Doniford Bay, Hafan Y Mor, Reighton Sands, Lakeland and Presthaven Sands.

The kids will love it but as an adult its just overprice cack imo. Expect to queue a lot, eat crap food, buy overpriced beer, stay in crap caravans/chalets, expect to argue with the useless staff and to top it theres only so much of Rory the f*cking Tiger you can stomach
The other problem I have is the virtually non-English-speaking staff they employ.

We last went in 2010 and I vowed that was the last time I'd go to a Haven site again.

Been twice, we actually liked Devon cliffs and the area around there

Went to Perranporth last year and all the above posts sum that place up tbh, and the "short walk to the beach" is a damn near verticle drop, although the beach was really clean.

Nothing but surf shops though.

If you go there, for gods sake don't get drunk on the beach, you will never get back up the hill!

We have been to perran sands twice and enjoyed it, but as you say the hill climb is a tad over the top lol,, i was purple by the time a got back up

some of the haven sites are garbage but a lot have been refurbed now and are actually a nice short break
We usually go to primrose valley or blue dolphin several times a year in a large groupe of freinds and have had some great times
