Anyone else had one of these sales calls. Wanting you to invest a mere £10,000 in Brazil and you can double your money.

Now, I'm sure I have a spare £10,000 in the ash tray of the car, but before I invest I thought i better ask the experts...... ie you

or
"Derry Lad - in the 1530 from Chepstow"

Funnily enough an ex colleague had one these calls tipping a horse. He had no idea who the caller was (Irish) so we looked up the horse in the paper and it was an outsider at about 20-1. Foolishly he went down the bookies and put £25 ew on it . It came home first. So he was £500 up.

The following week another call with another tip, this time the horse was at 16-1. He put another £25 on it , this time to win which again it duly did. He had no further calls for 2 weeks until one day they called and explained who they were but that for him to receive any more tips he would have to join their betting syndicate which had a large monthly fee. He sensibly declined.

So is horse racing fixed? You tell me.

I recently had a letter from the FSA warning me about these calls...I've not had a call so as yet I'm more suspicious of the 'FSA' letter!
