Help with Toilet please...
I am going CRAZY!
There is a leak in the toilet probably because one of the washers has gone, but I can't take the cistern off.
It is a close-coupled toilet that has screws inside the cistern and the nut hidden away in the sealed unit. After removing the rust from the screws they just turn and turn. And using a endoscope camera I can see that the nut and screw are just turning and turning ...
There MUST be a knack to this? Can anyone help?
Thanks.

If what's supposed to be holding the nut or the bolt head fast at the concealed end isn't doing its job, no option but to dremmel off the accessible end. Normally its a coach-bolt type thing that's held inside a slot built into the actual body of the cistern, but that bit might have chipped when it was installed*.
* for example, because some dozy *eckwit overtightened the nut

Thank you for the reply. I was saved fromt he seldgehamer by the fact that you actually have to pull the toilet away from the wall and then you have access to the nuts.
Stupid, stupid, stupid design.

Hint: replace ALL nuts, bolts washers and screws around your toilet with STAINLESS.
ebay is your friend, or www.yell.com , enter "bolt and nut stockist"
