For a job i want i have to...
...Record a video of myself demonstrating one of their products.
It's for Pioneer DJ, so nothing dodgy...
Basically i have a problem of, getting everything ready to go, hitting record and then freezing up!
Not really sure why, i know exactly what i've gotta say and what i'm gonna do, but i just can't get the words out
Any body ever done anything like this before? how do i warm myself up to do it ?

Seriously half a lager should be perfect, just enough dutch courage. I do this before I start my radio show. It gets rid of nerves an relaxes me just enough.

more common than you think tbh.
maybe start by doing it without the filming, just getting used to speaking, hearing yourself with no-one else there,
build up confidence in what youve prepaired.
usually knowing the product inside out or as much as you can, comes through as confidence without even trying.
also as you repeat it, you gain exeperirence as to what sounds better.
so ultimatley you could do as many "takes" as you want and hand the best in? is that right?

Did the demo, forgot to post it here.
Found out today that i got the job It's only an internship but its a paid one with paid travel etc.
As it involves making some video tutorials as part of the job they have put me on a course next wednesday for digital SLRs which is all paid for. It looks pretty fun too.
If anybody knows it, the bloke who does Pioneer DJ Sounds will be there, he makes all the videos with the likes of Carl ***, Laidback Luke, James Zabiela etcetc.
Well excited!

Cut down your script to small sections.
Any text you want, have in LARGE writing by the camera.
If there are processes involved, make sure you do them logically.
I do this all the time, with instructional videos for college.
The hardest bit is getting across a lot of information. But bite-size chunks are the only way to do it: the audience will also thank you for it!
