as rubbish as its got, as light entertainment i cant complain. dont think there have been too many episodes that have made me hate the show tbh.

the program went downhill years ago , when they stopped doing reviews of 'normal cars'
.
nice to see a healthy motor being put thru its paces occasionally , but it seems thats all they want to do , gone are the days that they would show you how to change a suspension strut with spring commpressors and ball joint tools etc , and where to put the oil in/out etc.
good riddance , bring on a new car proggrame as far as im concerned , im sick of everything being turned into either destruction or a joke.
when it comes back , fingers crossed for Suzi perry being a presenter.

those programmes are already on sky, and plenty of them
as much as TG is hosted by overpaid, often unfunny "snobs" is still find it enjoyable as light entertainment.
i prefer to watch them talking rubbish about cars, and enjoy seeing some nice cars being put through the paces. do i veiw it as a valuable vehicle assessment - not even remotley!
cant think of anything more boring than watching springs being compressed, or valves lapped in ect - id rather be doing those activities than watching them being done.

Who the **** wants to see reviews of normal cars? That's what the internet is for.
Surely it would then have to be called 'Normal-Gear' or 'Average-Gear'.
For all you haters, **** off and watch 5th gear!
I'm fed up with people moaning about it but yet continuing to watch it, every ****ing week.
Stop being so two-faced and actually do what you all keep threatening to do.
I'll continue to watch it for what it is, grown men pissing about in cars.

The answer is virtually no-one. Suzi Perry is boring.
Top Gear is a light-hearted entertainment show for people interested in cars. If you want an anorak's guide in making sweet love to car parts, you need to buy a niche magazine for enthusiasts.

If I wanted to look at a Focus or an Astra I could go into any dealership right now and get a test drive. I'd get kicked off the forecourt of a Ferrari dealership never mind have a drive of anything! So I'm quite happy to watch folk **** around on TV in cars that I'll never own.
Also, what does it matter what a TV presenter thinks of a car? Clarkson et al might rave about the latest Berlingo Multispace with its bewildering array of options, I may think it's a pile of turd! I'd never buy a car on the strength of [i]any[i] review!
Changing a shocker on TV, no thanks! Let's face it, if you're gonna take on jobs like that you know how to do it, watching some one do it on TV would be uber tedious!

I know its all scripted tosh but its still very watchable.
I think the weak link in it is Richard Hammond- he does seem very wooden and false. He seems to be up for presenting anything on TV and would know doubt turn up for the opening of an envelope if it got him some air time!
I dont know who to suggest for a replacement but someone who seemed to have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for it rather than someone like Hammond who gives the impression that hes just going through the motions and is waiting on that call about a new quiz show!
