MY99 from Lancaster 7 Oaks (No's avail on Subaru Website [www.subaru.co.uk])
Standard (& removable with an adjustable spanner + 5/10 mins) £315(inc electrics)
Swan neck type & removable c.£450+ (only circa as didn't get it as unnecessary).
Mine also is not used for caravans but sole reason is anchoring M'bike!

It's funny as back in 2000 the chavs couldn't afford Scoobies as they were a newish car and it was fairly cool to own one back then.
Remember the stares you used to get as you drove past with that burble of the flat 4??

Yes, how times of changed.
My first post, according to the site, was asking about a user manual. I believe that Id actually joined earlier and posted sooner, but after de Planke's re-indexing, I ended up with a join date in August 2003.

Here is mine from 2009 (joined in 2008 though - must have been a lurker) - pretty boring really - (i didnt buy this classic)
Hi,
I am new to the site, having always loved the scoob since being a kid, anyway my circumstances have changed meaning i not longer commute miles to work every day, hence i am on the lookout for an impreza
As above i have found one local to me, the trouble is it has no service history from what i can gather, is this a big no-no for these cars?
Obviously i will check all the obvious signs when viewing (oil filler cap, header tank, no blue smoke on startup / under load etc) but what specific things should i be looking for on a car of this age (15yr old )
Thanks

"I bought mine for £299 (edit - incl VAT) but there were six of us (through work) who bought at the same time!
If you can get at least six people to buy I will give you the details of who I got it from?"

"I'm currently doing the insurance searching game, on two cars: 03 STi and 99 Turbo 5dr. (Don't ask, i want the STi, wife wants the wagon. She's winning so far... )
03 STi 99 Turbo 5dr
NUnion £830 £720
APlan £798 £650
Egg £738 £640
Privilige £698!!! £519
What got me was that the insurance companies were asking for trackers on the 99 Turbo 5dr. Have trackers become the norm now for these? Or are other insurance companies less fussy? (The quotes were online, so maybe not too accurate)."

I'm just about to take delivery of a scoob turbo (UK spec with PPP, etc).
This seems to be a subject of grey area, but what can happen if I don't run it in properly, ie; pootle for 1000 miles, or the other extreme, cane it (but still under 4K revs) for the 1000?
I pretty much intend to drive normally up to 4K revs and without the 0-60 sprints - is that okay?

My first post was on 8th May 2003, 4 months before I bought my Impreza.
I had been to my first scooby meet in my brothers classic and I posted some pictures I had taken at the meet.
Got bitten by the bug when I saw my first MY03 STi and bought my scoob in the September....still got it now.
