I need to buy my father in law a wedding present and was thinking of a Zippo or something. Can someone recommend me a good lighter to look at or something similar.

I'd go for something different. I wouldn't give my father in law a lighter on any celebration; even to light a candle or his BBQ with. Give him a silver photo frame, silver candle holders for their dinner table, or a solid silver key ring for his house; for both him and his partner. You can get those things engraved with their wedding date, your message etc. Don't give anything for his solo use. After all, it is a couple's day. Perhaps his missus also smokes, but smoking is bad, as we all know. Therefore I won't give anyone a lighter as a pressie. They can buy their own lighter if they want to harm themselves.

Just my opinion. You can give him a Zippo, if that's what you think he would appreciate.
