Exclamation

I bought a Sanyo DVD with 6 speaker surround sound. Bass is good but not as loud as I wanted. IMHO if you want big bass you have to get an amplifier

Cool

I've got a Yamaha DSP-5 DTS/DSP amp and a Infinity active sub, I can't turn it up very much or the floor shakes and the neighbours complain, I think it's cool though.

Couple of choices ...

The Mission M78as retails at £699 , but you may find it for £550 if you look around enough..
The smaller M70as is available for about £250

Definitive Technology Pro Sub 80 Sub got some good reviews

Paradigm S-15 reference ( NOT THE S-10 ) if you can find one. Richer Sounds are UK distributors, so they might be worth calling.

B&W AS1000 is rated very highly by the mags, and retails at £499 , so that could be an option.

As always, what you need to do is get yourself down to a decent A/V specialist and listen to a range. If they are any good they will be able to set a range of them up for you with pretty much your current kit.

Cheers
Steve
