London 2012 Games Makers
Anyone on here applied to be a London 2012 Games Maker?
I had a selection event back on 9th April LAST year and still haven't heard if I've got a role yet. It's ridiculous, as I don't know if I need to book time off work. They couldn't organise a ****-up in a brewery. And I should know, I work for one...

Games Maker, what do you mean, like a steward or something? The people I know who applied to help out at the Olympics have already been told if they got the job or not, infact they were told last year before Christmas

The Games Makers are all the volunteers (i.e. non-paid!). All sorts of jobs - stewards at events, people in Central London directing spectators to transport links, and then tehre are the event-specific roles such as the umpires, timing teams etc. I have volunteered for a role at the rowing so it could be anything from organising boat storage, or managing a team doing stuff. It's just crap that they haven't given me a "yes" or "no" yet...
