Was at a do once, me and mates were watching lone mate 'Sharking'....he puts hand behind head in mock fin pose, gives the thumbs up, then turns 180 degrees to face intended prey, only to be confronted by prey's 20 stone mother 2 inches from his face!!!! We laughed our asses off....
Moral of the story:
Watch our for the mother shark

Sharking, ahh, a subject I know a lot about.
Did post an explanation for Michelle, but can't find it, so will repeat it here.
Sharking comes from the phrase "To shark" meaning, to try and pull a member of the opposite sex (or same sex depending on your predeliction). As in a shark in a big pool, full of shark bait. Think you get the idea.
Example:
A young female appears on a BBS and states they have changed thier name, people take the mick, someone, a young male decides to stick up for the female, stating that we should maybe meet her first before judging her. The young male is then called a shark, as everyone precieves that he is trying to pull the young female. The young male then states he is not, and thus the 'methinks he doth protest too much' syndrome is invoked, and this reinforces the shark comments. The young male gives up and accepts the shark tag, but denies trying to 'bait' the young female, as he's not, and he's just being an honorary big brother.
There you have it, the definition of the term 'shark' from the shark himself
