I'm going to Florida on holiday shortly. Does anyone know if the American radar detectors work in the UK? Do they sell makes like Snooper or Geodesy?

Get the Valentine 1 radar detector. It is half the price of what it is in the UK. It is the best, with the Bel Euro 550 radar detector coming in at a close second. Just make sure it is the latest version with Ku band. This band is needed for mini gatsos. The earlier versions of Valentine 1 did not have this band.

I don't know if the Geodesy is available there.

The snooper detctors aren't as good as the Bel Euro 550 and the Valentine 1.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Enough about that anyway these beauties can detect any form of police radar from 40 miles away!!! They even tell you the exact location. how good is that?? My Sport driving days have never been the same since I got these!!! 150 mphh here I come!!!!!!! Heres the good news he charges just 1500 quid and a 280 quid installation charge. Bad news I'm afraid is theres just 6 left so hurry guys. Lets Motor!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve

- definately pick up a Valentine 1 if you're over there.
£300 - £400 in the US, £500 - £600 here.

Popeye,

do you have contact details for your mate?

I have got together 5 friends and we are hoping since we can empty his stock he might knock off an extra fiver.

What do you think?

Can anyone recommend any decent head units that will fit MY01?
I have a Kenward Mask currently, but apparently does not fit the new shape. While i'm in the States I might as well pick up a new head unit.

The radio frequencies on any head unit in US will be in NTSC format - i.e little use for over ere, plus i dont think they use 625 line RDS there either

Stevenuk300,

Just a reminder again mate. When you buy the Valentine 1, make sure it has Ku band.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Diesel,
The Kenward I currently have was bought in America. Like you say the radio frequencies are slightly different, but can be picked up. for 97.6 this can be picked on 97.5 or 97.7. Other than that I had no other problems.

Hey I'll be in the US soon as well.

Thinking of getting a Valentine 1 as well

Another good buy would be a Cali Car Cover, and a Center Arm Rest (extension) for the Scooby.

I read in the leaflet thing that came with my Bel550 about the legality of these wonder things - can anyone tell me if they are legal in Florida? If they are, its going with us!

Scoob Babe,
You gonna drive your Scoob to Florida or just hook the detector up in a Mustang or something?
If your driving, you'd better watch what hides in that exhaust of yours. You might find a Croc or something.
