Brabantia Bins
Can anyone who has one confirm if you have to use their own make bin bags. They are advertised as smartfix so does that mean (conveniently) that they use a special fitting system so you can't just use any old bags?
Main reason I ask is that our council have just issued houses with 80 of their own bin bags that are the only ones they will collect due to pushing households to recycle more. I suppose we could put the Brabantia bin bags inside our councils ones but not exactly environmentally friendly.
Cheers
Simon

I've always used Brabantia ones in my Brabantia kitchen bin - purely because they fit properly and you don't get unsightly plastic appearing from under the lid when it's closed.
You can use any sort of bag in them though - I've got another bin that I use black plastic refuse sacks in, and whilst it looks a little scruffy as the plastic tends to creep out from under the lid, it all works perfectly well.

LOL.... no, it isn't.
However - was purely stating that, if you already own a Brabantia bin then you MUST have some interest in how the damn thing looks, and buying Brabantia bin bags helps to maintain that stylish appearance.
If it was PURELY a BIN (Mr Hutton!) then it would probably be some dodgy ASDA version, rather than a fairly expensive Brabantia - and the liners would hence be black bin bags.

I was asking as we wanted to stick one on our Wedding Gift List. Decided on the 30L matt “fingerpint proof” version as the next one up is 45ltr in that style which is too large for the gap in our kitchen cupboard. A little on the small side but then our current bin is 40L and is push flap at the top so you cant use the last bit of a bag as the otherwise the lip hits your waste.
The 40L flat black one is 1cm too wide and has a stupid handle on the back which means it doesn’t fit flush to the wall anyway. Poor design from such a company.
