Haven't we tried this and decided it's bad press to kill the wrong bloke?
Leaves the public with a disturbing choice of badman's bomb or policeman's bullet. Does everything to undermine public confidence that TPTB are in control.
I'm still aghast that no-one's been jailed or dismissed for the Menendez shooting.

Correct as per BBC news. He injured 2 policeman then jumped. Dead on ground.
Perhaps police were worried about a bomb, hence stand-off?
