I haven't read about the science behind this claim, and the article doesn't provide the sources, but it certainly makes a lot of sense, and having worked along side people who are crap at their jobs I can agree with the sentiment that people who are dumb cannot recognise the dumbness in others.

So, what's the alternative to democracy!?

Effective democracy relies on the voting population to have sufficient intelligence to understand what they are voting on. Some, but not all, of the population IS intelligent enough, but many are not.

So, the simple answer is to simply only take that intelligent portion of the population's vote! Have a simple test, like naming the current prime minister, or the names of the parties up for election.
