Angry Towbar Related Question...

Last year a company fitted a towbar to my Audi Q7. I now no longer need the towbar but my cousin who has just bought a Q7 said he does.

I have just been to an Audi garage to enquire about removing. The first question he asked was where is the re-inforcing beam that goes along the back of the bumper (this is removed when the towbar is fitted, and re-fitted if the towbar is removed)

These's beams cost in the region of £200 from Audi, so the garage knew what they were doing when the removed it and didn't give me it back !!

Where do I stand legally before I ring these to$$ers up and give them a mouthful ? I didn't ask for the beam back because I didn't know they were removing it !

Thanks

Why not use the one from your cousins car.

I know that's an option, I'm not thick...what happens if he wants to remove the towbar at a later date, we're back to square one...?

find a second hand one,we allways ask the customer if they want the crash beam back when we remove them and most dont want them back!

Swapping cars would be a more simple solution.

Look on Ebay, there are some on there for £45, assuming that's the beam you're on about.

unfortunatly not at the moment.ask your self this if you swap the parts from one car to the other and vice versa, when your cousin gets rid of his car will he leave the towbar on?
i wouldnt go to audi to remove and refit it,it will cost a fortune.there not bad to do,but i would say that i do towbars most days.
