Bit of a worry!
When I went to bed the other day, I experienced a pain in the chest. I thought I had tweaked a muscle but it persisted so I got Mrs Leslie to get the ambulance. The paramedics confirmed all was not as it should be so I went off to hospital.
When I got there I went straight into the theatre where they did an angioplasty. The consultant confirmed that one of my bypass arterys was blocked and that I was suffering a heart attack. He managed to unblock it and I will have to go back later for a stent to go in another artery which has closed up a bit. They dripped two full bottles of clotbuster drug into me as well!
Spent the rest of the week in the hospital, the care and attention in the coronary care ward was truly outstanding. They can't do enough for you.
As good as they are though, I can't recommend the actual experience!

Glad you're feeling better Les... shocking thing to go through at any age but at least it sounds like you were in safe hands.... and on a positive note should be fully sorted out soon enough - just think of it like a rebore!
You should now be able to get Mrs Les to do all the running around for you for at least the next two weeks
Best wishes DCI

Sorry to hear that, Leslie. Not everyone is so lucky to be attended in time and receiving good care. Much respect to Mrs. Leslie for looking after you. My sincere wishes for your full recovery.

I'm glad you are felling okay now.
My Mother had a heart attack a few years ago and the NHS were amazing.
My conclusions about the NHS are that for mundane and unusual things they are absolutely terrible: Long waiting lists, consultants that are overworked and you never get to see them but their team who are mostly incompetent.
For emergencies and things that are 'important' and the like they are very good and provide a great service.

A bit of a worry must be understating it a bit! That sort of business is enough to scare the life out of anyone. Glad you didn't leave it to chance and got sorted. All the best.
