He was sacked but was reinstated when his conviction was thrown out. They should be able to sack him again now he has been convicted again.
I read somewhere that he only has three months to serve because he spent 15 months inside first time (why doesn't three years mean three years!). By that logic the police should be able to claim back the £90K a year they've been paying him since he was reinstated - but I won't hold my breath.

Why wasn't he sacked when he was first convicted?
