Default paypal question

need a bit of help with paypal.i sent my paypal address to a buyer and by mistake i have left out 1 letter from my paypal address.so he sends the funds which i obviously didnt receive.so when i look back through the pm's and realise what i had done i contacted the buyer and told him what had happened.he has phoned paypal and says they wernt very helpfull and i have also phoned paypal but as i'm not the account holder he couldn't give me much details.i was always under the impression that you could just reverese the sent payment, has anyone ever been through this and could advise on what to do.thanks.

I think you can, in fact I KNOW you can.

I have done it recently.

An item I paid for came up as funds not collected, so I reversed it, that was an option on the Paypal site.

If you see dunx, get him to empty his inbox, please.

I had issues with PayPal when I ordered a phone case from a website which appears to have gone bust. The money sat in limbo for 28 days as the other company didn't claim it either.
After 28 days I reclaimed it but I phoned PayPal and they refused to assist at all until 28 days had passed

Assuming it hasn't been claimed at the other end, just click on the "reverse this payment", or "reclaim funds" button.

sorry guys not true, because the item wasnt an ebay item and the payment went to someone not in the uk there is no way of just cancelling the transaction. i know this cos im the guy who sent the payment,
as it stands the payment is still unclaimed....
according to paypal i have to wait 7 days until i put in a claim, they email the person and give them 10 days to answer. if no answer they recover money. If money isnt claimed within 30 days paypal automatically pulls back the money.
If the person does accept the payment, then thats a real grey area, of which i have had 3 different answers from 3 different paypal employees.
