Former Prime Minister Tony Blair channelled millions of pounds through a complicated web of companies and paid just a fraction in tax, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

The guy charmed a nation for a short time, but was a snake like the rest. We are suffering now partly due to his mismanagement.

Good luck to him.
You don't get rich by writing out cheques.

Scum, utter scum, thieving (allegedly) barstewards, both of them.

Brought socialism to a new low, from which it will take a long time to recover.

And will HMRC investigate him. I doubt it. They will concentrate on small business, as is their remit for this year.
Seems the Government, or was and is, can do what they like, but Joe Bloggs trying to make a living, is to be given some grief.

It is exactly what one might expect from a piker like him of course, but what kind of a system is it which lets him get away with that?

FFS... he isn't a socialist or if he is then so is Cameron. Socialism died a log time ago in the Labour Party!

It died with Clause IV and Clause IV had to go after '89 and '89 had to happen after Gorbachev and Gorbachev had to happen after only partially evolved humans had a go at implementing the ideas of the highly evolved Marx. There aren't enough clever people in the World with commensurate purity of heart for the principles of socialism to have primacy and prevail and deliver on its promise. The very best we can hope for is Christian capitalism which, apparently, Blair represents. I didn't realise tax-dodging was in its charter.

Exactly, sad though that is. A difference between an ideal and reality I guess.

As for Blair it was he who drove the change in the Labour Party to remove and replace Clause IV and he has stated that he prefers being thoght of as a social democrat than a socialist!

Either way he seems to be a tax dodger so it's probably academic really

Where I state 'Christian capitalist' it would have been more accurate to have said 'Christian and a capitalist' which of course aren't exclusive to being a social democrat. I just cannot square how one can claim to have a social conscience and Christian ethics and dodge taxes. I wonder if he justifies it to God by paying far more back in via charitable works and not wishing to fund a Tory-led government. We'll never know of course, but it'd be good to get inside his mind and know the truth.

So you label the Russians, the Chinese and the North Koreans as only partially evolved?

Any human who's unable to master his own desires and defer to the greater good is, in my book, under-evolved. If Frodo had led the storming of the Winter Palace we'd have been alright.

Technically speaking, are hobbits actually humans?

'Bit' of what? Screwing the system to satisfy his own insatiable greed or his 'bit' of goodwill in charitable work (which he has kept incredibly discrete and secretive). You need to explain your post.

I'm not sure cster was aiming to justify, perhaps more trying to understand.
