Ecstasy
Just reading Shaun Ryders Biography "Twisting My Melon", I was never into drugs in any big way, the odd spliff, acid once and a brief and terrifying dabble with Solvents....
Never tried Ecstasy, feel like I mssied out a bit, what was it really like, not going to try now by the way, though I suspect my current daily alcohol intake over the Christmas period is probably more dangerous.
Who was into the pills back in the day, did I miss out ?

Yea....
I tried everything i should shove down me in the "Madchester" years....Drew the line at Heroin though.
I personally loved trips.....or LSD to the uninitiated..E's always seemed a bit of a dulled down version to me.
Had many happy nights around Manchester 20 odd years ago..
I was only speaking to Bez on christmas eve about the Merc that now drives.....Now thats a man who has munched plenty!!

Never tried anything like that.
If you need drugs to have a good time, your life must be pretty ****.
I used to go to all the raves etc. Didn't need drugs.

Apart from an occasional drag of spliff in a party or two a good few years ago, just for the sake of it, I have never done any drug. Even that random toke did **** all for me. Seeing others' wrecked state in such parties put me off even more! P!ssed people fighting with one another, hyper idiots bashing music instruments to wake the neighbours up, weeded ones discussing the sun, moon and the stars with their lethargic brains, and someone's drugged gf sleeping with someone else's boyfried, all ******* sh!te! I missed out on nothing at all.
Music has been my drug all along that gets me going.

Drugs do different things to different people but a clean crisp E how they were back in the day was probably the best feeling in the world never the same after the first one or two though.

triple dropping mitsi turbos back in the day
would never encourage any1 to take them for the first time and i aint proud of taking the things i did but i did have some good times and very funny memories

Im 41 now and was 18 when i first chucked a " mad b@stard" down my neck....I couldnt estimate how many pills i swallowed in my time.....it was a fair few! This was a time when they were 15 quid a pop and TBH you only needed the one pill.....back when pills were pills.
Im not ashamed of what i done, i had some great nights out.
As for Acid, i hated the stuff!

never been into drugs in a big way, bar experimenting in youth, its funny when you see guys eccied out there face at any nightclub ect, it looks really attractive when they start trying to chew there ear off lol.
having said that for true bodily damage/negative social impact and wreckless actions, alcohol wins hands down, ive laughed so many more times at t*ts steaming than i have at guys/girls of there face on ecstacy, and reality is i doubt anyone ever has went home eccied and tried to batter a loved one.
all with maybe exception of crack cocaine/heroine are worse than alchol. and thats if you put the % of users equal. with the smaller useof these 2 drugs, neither is a patch on the damage alcohol causes.
but to answer o.p , if that bothered just try one. sure it wont be the end of you lol

Ate a lot of e's between the age of 17 and 19. Had the time of my life and look back with fond memories! Never did anyone any harm and neither did my mates, we just had a truly awesome time.

I'm the only one of my group of mates (djs and dance nuts) who's never had any drugs. I don't want kudos or respect as its just my decision but they are amazed at my ability to rave for 12 hours solid on just booze/red bull alone when they need pills or Scunny talc to keep going.

i was known to part take in the odd pill back in the 90's.doves or Dennis menace's were the pills of choice followed by a wrap or 2.had many a blinding night on them and traveled all over the place to raves and night clubs.i dont regret taking them as lifes for living.

Speed once at Uni, couldn't sleep for 48hrs ... never been in to any of it tbh. Mate of mine was constantly smashed on weed during early 90's, quite often so bad that he couldn't even speak!

Nowadays I am very different to when I was in my early 20's
I never take anything now and dont even drink alchohol
and concentrate all my time providing for my family and
advancing my career.
but back when I was in my early 20's I used to like to pop
a couple of E's every now and again within moderation tho
and I had a really good time and dont regret a minute of it.
while I took E's within moderation some of my friend's didnt
and took to excess and I see them now 12 years later
and they are still doing the same crap we were doing
back when we were in our 20's.
Not joking when I say a couple of them look like space cadet's
when I see them in the street.
I think its bullsh1t and narrow to say that everyone who has taken drugs must have a **** life.
Me personaly when I was taking them I was in a reasnobley good job
with a nice car with good friends and a very nice life.
but on that same note some people taking drugs will have a **** life aswell.
but the same apply's to people drinking alchohol aswell.
