My son got a reading book of my Sis in law. Inside there is a sticker that reads - "Elissa, good luck in year 1, from all your reception teachers".
He looks a bit miffed to say the least.
My mum questioned Sis in law about it, and she admitted it was from the school fair!

Oh, and off the same person Mr. P had an 'auto car set' which consisted of some cheap tyre pressure gauge, a pen and a torch. All of which screams POUNDLAND!!!
He could just throw his set of maglites in the bin I suppose...?!
I had a gift of similar standard. A rust plated piece of 'jewellery'. I use the term very loosely as it's not even wearable.
It's the thought that counts I suppose. So when I watched his five children open up all their lovely gifts of soft toys books I felt so warm inside.
When I saw they box set of Disney princesses have the cover ripped into several pieces it made it all seem so worth while.

She is obviously letting you know how much she loves you, and how well she knows you, all with one fantastic gift!

Nut cracker and nuts from the Other Half's grandmother.
I have a mild nut allergy.
Still, it's an improvement on last year when she called me fat.

Reindeer socks and a novelty mug. I have asked the in laws next Christmas to just give me a card and make a donation to the salvation army. on the plus side though I got to build my sons lego presents and I play mario kart 7 on the 3ds when he is in bed
