Default Post Christmas sale bargains?

Not seen a thread on this yet so it thought I would start one to see if anyone has come across any bargains in the sales yet?

I got dragged shopping by the wife today and frankly it was horrendous, no bargains I could find came home empty handed, anyone else had better luck?

Nothing new. Christmas/new year sales is myth a IMHO; just punch most stuff into google shopping and it can be had online for the same or even cheaper.

Usually better off waiting until after the January. TVs in February and new sofas in the summer time 'lull'. All discounted by some stupid amounts.

Last time I saw a real bagain at this time of year was ten years ago on some speakers that had been priced incorrectly (they missed the one off the start! ....£25 for a pair Wharfedale diamonds, they should have been £125 ).

They had a 42" 3D LED TV in Tesco.

It included a named BluRay Player (I think Philips).

AND 8 glasses .... it worked bery well indeed - I was shocked at the £599 price for everything

Asda have an hdtv for £50 with freeview blah blah blah the only downside is its 15" screen so even as a bedroom tv you need binoculars to see it.

Picked up some bargains from Sainsburys yesterday clothes wise. Jumpers/hoodies at £9 a piece from £18. Got our little boy some bits and bobs half price too.

Oh and 4 loafs of bread from Morrisons for £0.30p (all 4 ) and donuts for 25p

Mrs laptop was half price but bought before Christmas so does that count

I thought it was the active shutter 3D that caused headaches? The passive ones use polarised light (same as the cinema).

Not if the refresh rate is high enough which you don't get with cheaper 3D tv's.

I've always known passive to be the worse as its your eyes doing the work

Pretty sure I saw this on Hot UK Deals?

TRhe BD player was a Sony and the TV is Technica (Tescos own brand). The glasses are passive (or active??) - basically the low spec version. They can be had for a few quid each so not worth anything really.

The reviews on the TV set say it's quite poo quality but for £400 (which I think is the current price) it's not bad!
