Also the citizen has a perpetual calendar which is a useful complication, citizen costs more becuase it is a much better watch.

The that sort of money, Id be looking at a Tissot Visiodate, for myself (£275 link). Have a look at Creationwatches.com, probably at Seiko first. You can get an awful lot more from the right vendor for that sort of money.

The Visiodate is an automatic watch, but if you really want a quartz chrono (and Seiko cant tempt you!?), then the Tissot PRC200 chrono will cost half of what the seond link I clicked will stand you at (£400, so under £200 for the PRC200).

You can buy a nice old Rolex Oysterdate Precision for £600 if you know where to look too...

I always wonder how many people use the chronograph facility on watches?
I realised that I didn't after buying one, too fiddly!

Does make my head spin with too many dials!

I like the first and last one but kinetic/eco drive watches are great. Not too keen on the look of those though

its alot of money but if you buy a good brand like that you can always sell it if you need to. Not like buying and owning a cars. you could keep it ten years then sell it for good money and buy another one.

I spent 2k on my last watch, ppl say im mad but buying 10k car owning it for 3yrs then selling it for 5k is mad. The watch will retain a much higher value maybe 75-80% so loosing a few hundred quid.
I could buy a casio for £300 quid and end up chucking it in the back of the draw with my other watches i knock about in. Thats a waist of money in my book!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but am going to the states for the new year and I've been promising myself a Tag for a few years.
Are there deals to be had over there or should I shop around over here in places such as the Tag factory outlet in Bicester?

Calling TAG Heuer watches 'Tags' really grates on me. Heuer is the firm with the heritage and Technique Avant Garde bought them out in the early eighties when the Swiss watch industry was on its ****. TAG dont even own the firm any more: they were sold out to the Louis Vuitton group years ago.

And most swiss watch companies are owned by swatch!

Think the chap just wants to know which is the smartest of those four watches though

Probably worth considering if you can get a good deal duty free at the airport too

It's because they don't know how to pronounce Heuer
