Default Ebay

I hate ebay lol

Anyways, someone bought one of my items and I sent it on a 24 hour courier, Citylink to be precise.

They have tried 3 times to deliver the parcel. I tried to get hold of the buyer asking for his phone number to pass to the courier. No reply. Kept sending messages, no reply. Even requested his details through ebay but surprise they were fake!. So I spoke to Parcel2go who I booked it through and they said I would recommend you have the parcel sent back to you to avoid extra costs. So that is what I have done.

Buyer emails me saying where is his item because he has been away, news to me. I explained the courier has tried to deliver etc. He starts being abusive, saying he wants the item (he sounds like a fruitcake to be honest lol)

Anyway question is do I have to refund him all his money plus postage costs or can I deduct the postage costs?

Thanks.

I wouldn't repay postage if I was going to be out of pocket.

Don't refund the postage. Buyers have a duty to make suitable arrangements to receive mail order goods, even if it's just leave it behind the dustbin.
It would only be right to refund the item cost though.

keep hold of the tracking info. If he leaves negative feedback or claims no reciept of the item then you can put the tracking number into paypal to verify you attempted delivery.
