The total damage bill is expected to hit several million pounds. A new Ferrari 355 retails for several hundred thousand pounds.

Sounds like the Midnight Club Wangan Run which was very popular in the 90's. Highly paid businessmen would relax by taking there high power skylines, supras etc out on the highway's and sitting on each others bumpers at 200mph and it was considered dishonourable to brake! If that's the case in this instance, it's very easy to see how a chain reaction like this could have been started.

I can see it now....
Fresh imported ferrari, in need of tender loving care. Some front end damage but nothing that a layer of t cut won't rub out, caught in a mild accident when this, and 7 other supercars tried to keep up with a Subaru in the twisties
