Default Cheaper car insurance for women....

Just saw an advert saying women hurry and renew as Jan next year the EU are stopping cheaper insurance for women?

I didn't think women actually got it cheaper.. does this mean that womens policies will be MORE then mens to keep within the law reguardless of NBC etc?

What is the world comming too

Good grief..........the EU got something right?

I remember referring women's insurance to both advertising standards and equalities, only to be told by both there was nothing THEY could do, it contravened no rules, laws etc

Insurance is all about risk. Women are generally less risky than men, so why shouldn't they get it cheaper?

I'm not saying they are better or not. I just can't believe the EU can say they have to pay more... What's next? Pay more for water?

The statistics they work from to judge risk and set policies will be fairly 'accurate' for their needs. Doesn't matter how good a certain kind of driver seems to you (that's subjective), they look at what happens and make their decisions based on that.

So the EU regulations once again are totally pointless and discriminatory. But hey, that shouldn't shock anyone.

But on a less serious note: yes, women can't drive for sh*t.

2011 research. I'm surprised it took them this long as men have known it all along.

That article seems a bit irrelevant to this thread though.

Does anyone really think the insurance industry doesn't know where it's losing money? Its job is to protect itself against that, nothing more.

I remember an article where they said that the sexist divide had to be abolished. Wasn't it womens would increase by 40% and mens would drop by 10%? (Numbers could very well be wrong they are ballpark)

Instead, they discovered that accidents involving two women drivers were 20.5 per cent, while male/male crashes were much lower at 31.9 per cent.
I know I was never very good at maths but in what universe is 31.9% lower than 20.5%?

As a generalisation, women will have less costly accidents than (young) men. Young men are more likely to have write-offs and cause more damage.

Or the women drive off unscathed after causing a pile up behind them. I've seen this happen (albeit on a small scale) and reported her to the powleece after she drove off unawares of the reprocussions of her actions behind her. Dumb bitch

Not sure on the % but yes. Some feminist in Belgium stamped her foot and pretty much turned over every woman in Europe.

Sexist divide indeed. Thing is, we discriminate quite often in life. I reckon insurance is one of those times when it's pretty sensible to do so: it's for a reason.

I wonder if these types who are so determined not to discriminate would get to the edge of the grand canyon and keep walking. After all, we shouldn't discriminate against the air just because it's different from the ground!
