Women that is....

Can't say it surprises me given the amount of oxygen thieves this country seems to breed, but I wonder what the stats are for America

I spend a fair bit of time in eastern Europe and you just dont get fat girls outside. It's like low number of fatties are too humiliated to leave the house and that is how it should be.

When I first went to the USA on holiday, which must have been twenty years ago now. One of the things that amazed me was the huge waist size in jeans they could get over there (Also that every middle aged American tourist wears white Reeboks, which is still true today ). This was made more obvious due to the size of the people who wore them! And these weren't just random brands - these were proper branded jeans like Levis, and Wranglers etc. (I just looked at the latter's website and 66" waist jeans can be had in a 28" leg ). Just to point out this wasn't something I actively looked for, it was just one of those things a bored child noticed in a clothing store whilst waiting for their parents to buy whatever it is they are looking at in the shopping mall and take me to Disney/Spashworld/Seaworld etc.
At the time, I don't recollect seeing XXL waist size jeans in the UK, they just did not exist (unless from a specialist outlet/brand). Nor to I recollect people wearing them (unlike today). Typically anyone with a big belly in the UK had to wear elasticated trousers or jogging bottoms. Whilst nowadays all sorts of clothing is available catering for the excessively larger sizes.
Do you think that suggests something? To me it does; The US has long had obesity problems. That why its clothing market caters for them. I'd say its only in the past ten years that the UK has started catering for larger sizes en-masse, that suggest to me that there is a large enough demographic to warrant catering for them.
Its not a good trend though - especially considering our neighbouring countries have roughly half the percentage (10% ) of obese population.
And what do I blame? Hard to pin point. Supermarket shyte, softs drinks, beer, mainstream pubs/binge drinking, too many people in desk jobs, the lack of local amenities that allows people (especially kids) to be active and get out and about cheaply ( i.e free ), TV culture, the weather, etc. I could go on

Personally, I can't be doing with skinny girls - Kiera Knightly for instance does nothing for me. Having said that, Dawn French is too much of a porker for my tastes. Something inbetween suits me fine.
At a recent christening on my wifes side of the family - you know how it is, you get bored, you start scoring the opposition. Without wishing to sound snobbish they are mostly a bit on the low rent side and almost all of them were obese.

Thin or fat, as long as it's on the right places the latter.

It's not knowledge but common sense that's needed. People eat too much and do too little. Too much carbs and fats not enough exercise. Our bodies cannot adapt to the changing lifestyles, look at how our diets have changed in fifty years.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is no such thing as a 'diet' to control weight/health. It needs to be a way of life not a short term fix. All these fad diets that are abound are just a con! FFS the world needs to wake up. Until evolution renders fatty/sugary foods tasteless we need to minimise them. Remember there is no such thing as a 'bad' food just bad diets where we consume too much of certain foods.
A simple mantra would be 'eat less do more'.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, common sense is not putting it in to a fruit salad

Still, I'm no porker, cos I ride about 90 miles a week on a pushbike!
Does make you wonder what has changed in the past 20 yrs or so? Is the change more crap food or less exercise?
