Can`t believe its been this long, seems like a few years ago but not 20!!

What a talent he was, and a big loss.

Freddie was irreplaceable. Outrageous, talented with fantastic vocal clarity and timing and with a great band.

Was waking up in the driver's seat of my car in a forest looking forward to the RAC rally when I heard about his death on the radio. Probably Glocaenog.

Absolute legend, very few poor Queen tracks.

Heard it on the radio driving home from work from a night shift, can't believe it's been 20 years !!

IIRC he announced he had AIDS only days earlier.

A great showman who stole Live Aid with Queen.

Absolutely stole the show at Live Aid - Wembley 1985. If you haven't seen their performance (or forgotten!) - watch it. Awesome.

Imagine him auditioning on X-Factor, sorry Mr Bulsara your not right for this show!! Just goes to show that the mass market crap we are force fed won`t stand the test of time, and the music establishment should get rid of the Justin Biebers and the likes and let us choose some REAL talent by way of record/download sales!!

My fav Queen song, simply as it was one of his last and the words are very touching, as he knew by then he was on his way out and there are lots of personal touches in there.

A great talent sadly missed. He was born one week before me in 1946.

I've each of Queen's albums (bar a few obscure US only releases that I may splash out on one day) mainly on vinyl. I think Sheer Heart Attack is probably my favourite; tracks like Brighton Rock, Lap of the Gods, Lilly of the Valley and Now I'm Here are very accomplished with novelties like Bring Back That Leroy Brown and then there's Roger Taylor's Tenement Funster which I think's superb (as are his vocals on I'm In Love With Car on my second favourite record, A Night at the Opera). Oh, and the more obscure Killer Queen. Live Magic's outstanding, too. And Queen I and II. And Killer Live. And......

We were on our way up to North Wales to watch the rally in the early hours when we heard the news.

Freddie hated this track, apparently. I love it: from Highlander/A Kind of Magic

(Can't find a decent video, sorry)

I was 17 then, I had been playing a gig with the band I was in at the time and went to a party after the gig. It was lunchtime when we began to surface and news broke that Freddie had did. It put a real down on what had been a great night and a great party.
