I see that HMG are trawling around the civil service looking for people willing to work as temporary border agency staff when the govt goes on strike next week.

Well I reckon there could be a few bob in this so here's a thought for anyone wanting a bit of extra cash for Xmas.

Basically you apply saying you used to work doing Xmas mail for the Post Office or quote some now defunct govt department as they will never have the time to check this out and this will qualify you.

You get a couple of days training which must be worth a couple of hundred and off you go.

Bear in mind it will be chaos so you man your desk and assess any dodgy entrants and as you stamp their passports you casually ask for the £100 entry tax (£99 for minors) and wish them a pleasant stay.

Now that would be a nice little earner and if anyone questions you then just say "my goodness that cash must have fallen out of his passport"
