In a world where customer care and good old fashioned service seems to be falling by the wayside, I am happy to say Dyson is bucking the trend. Having purchased a Dyson upright vac in 2008 and getting a five year guarantee I didn't realise how invaluable the guarantee would be. I have already used the guarantee on two occasions prior. On Friday just gone the vacuum decided it didn't want to stay switched on, it came on when the power button was pushed but didn't click into the on position. I phoned the call centre and spoke to an English person which is always a relief. I was told an engineer would call on Monday morning. Monday came and as promised the engineer called in the morning. I went to show him the fault and lo and behold the bloody thing worked perfectly! The engineer said he'd have a look at it anyway. Twenty minutes later he called me over to say he'd done. He had replaced the switch anyway plus fitted a new motor as it seemed weak. He also replaced the hose as it was cracked (two things I didn't even mention). All the work done quickly, efficiently and without fuss and no mess! Great service and something other companies could learn from.

Vax did similar for us recently and replaced all the tools that were getting worn and rotating slowly.

A lot of companies could learn from these 2 on customer service it seems.
