Im watching CO11 on Twitter (for work purposes) and seems there are 2,000+ students out there so far. And another march down by Blackfriars today, electricians

Does anyone know when the description of children who are being educated in schools up to sixth form changed from "pupils" to "students"???

AFAIAC, you ain't a "student" until you go to University (preferably studying a nice techy course, rather than a farty BA). Wearing a uniform and spots means that you are still a "pupil"!!!

Apparently there was a minimum of trouble.

I think they were entitled to protest about the charges anyway.

I think there should be no charges but the idea of trying to get so many through a university course these days is a mistake, more of a vote catcher from Billy Liar I reckon.

There were armed units and riot police everyhwere and with Bishopsgate, London Wall and Moorgate all cordened off from what I saw. There were also a few students/protesters hanging around media/news vans/crews too, perhaps hoping to get their 5 seconds of being on TV, but nothing to report about. Quite disapointing really as it resulted in a thread only 6 posts long......
