Anyone into Sax?
No it's not a typo
I have always liked Saxophone music, specifically the kind of slow bluesy jazz style.
So I want to spend some time on You Tube but I know so little about what to look for so can anyone give me some pointers please?
Thanks, David

Thanks Lee - hadn't heard that in ages, great track. Might cck out Hawkwind then.
I am sure someone on here will play the sax or be in a band with a Saxophonist.
In my old long haired hippy days () I lived in Washington DC and used to go to a fantastic jazz club called Blues Alley in Georgetown; really scruffy place but with a fabulous atmosphere who mostly featured the old great black players of days gone past who had had their days of glory but could still generate some great music. I was delighted to see it is still going and I would give a lot to spend a nostalgic evening back there

Thanks for the above (aside from Mr Urban's intellectual response) - I'm beginning to enjoy myself
What re-kindled my interest was a track I heard on the radio a few days back which I have now tracked down. To me I find it totally relaxing. It just reeks of a late night club with a half empty whisky bottle on the table in a smoke filled dimly lit room

sometimes yes( won't say anything about my dyslexic girlfriend!)
Used to love going to Ronnie Scotts in Birmingham.Fantastic night out.
Think its shut down and is now a flipping lap dance place for weirdos who fiddle in their pockets
I know I'm moving on to Jazz now rather than Sax ,but some Jazz is great(the late night club you describe). Some jazz is a bit too weird for my taste though (what was that sketch???" Niiiiiiice"....chap out of Cold Feet)

My wife was taken aside by the teachers at school who said'we understand from your son (6) that your huband plays the clarinet and you play the trumpet and you play at weddings. Would you like to come and play for the school?'
