Snow on the US East coast...
Any predictions of it coming over here? Previously when the US East coast has been hit hard with snow it has often arrived here shortly afterwards.
I don't want it coming here, just wondered if any of the SN amateur weather experts are predicting it getting here?

Mate is in NY at the mo, said its beautiful but a proper PITA too as it makes being a tourist quite hard lol.
Lets hope we are not getting any just yet. On my travels I am yet to see one grit silo with much in it.. Surely now is the time to stock up.

Would be surprised if it had any bearing on our weather, was a blast of cold from Canada meeting with some wet air and causing snow, we are more subject to warm and wet Atlantic fronts meeting Siberian ones and causing Snow, kind of why the Eastern side of the country cops for it more than us over the other side of the Pennines. But who knows, it may be portentous in some way, I am no meteorologist.
Wouldn't mind a decent few days of snow but appreciate its a pain in the **** for a lot of people, I can work from home and look out on how pretty it is.

Whenever we speak to radio hams on the east coast and they have had snow, it certainly does sometimes reach us eventually.
It will depend on the movement of the polar front and also the way the weather pressure systems behave. Not really possible to give a stone cold certainty of a forecast though. A lot can happen to those systems etc. as they cross the Atlantic.

Yup we had 15" in N.E. Pennsylvania. A local record for the largest/earliest snowfall. This brings the annual rainfall to over 52", another record. Cracks me up when I tell people i`m from the UK and they say "its always raining over there"...
