There will still be some bell ends who think the bbc license fee is poor value for money.

...however I was watching Grand designs. Will catch up with this on iplayer.....which my bargain tv license also pays for.

I agree. This type of programme may not be everyones cuppa tea but the quality and production are in a different league compared to other channels.

Just wish they would put the same effort into other their sport which has stagnated somewhat in the last 5 years.

The overall package is unbeatable, a great website, some of the better British TV productions and a multitude of national and local radio stations, bargain !!

Sadly they'll never compete sportswise, the money just isnt there.

MOTD though

I just think the format of a lot of programmes is getting dated. I'm a big snooker fan and the beeb do it well but its been the same commentary, graphics etc for at least 5 years and there are a few sports/programmes which need refreshing (top gear, motd, etc).

I also think that the bbc need to make use of BBC3 and 4 during daytime for things other than childrens tv. Theres 12 hours a day on 2 channels that arent used and this could provide a "sky sports news" style channel or maybe something with some classic bbc content that isnt like Dave.

It was epic watched it in hd and was amazed, I think it justified the license fee on its own.

Probably the best advert for HD TV - never mind what Hollywood churns out.

Not seen it yet but have recorded it. I met David Attenborough a couple of months ago. He came to the opening of a new Dinosaur exhibition at Leicester Museum where my wife was involved in coordination the exhibition with her school. He was very approachable but did look like he's getting on a bit (though it was hot day), so respect for continuing to make great documentaries like this.

Hear, hear.

I get to watch East Mediterranean and Middle East telly on NileSat for up to 4 weeks per year, US telly in Florida for 2 weeks. They're sh1te! They make our BBC TV/radio/website/iplayer package look and sound fantastic!

With its remit to 'Educate, Entertain and Inform' the BBC is probably the last remaining thing at which Britain is arguably the 'Best in the World'.

The only thing is that right now the BBC is under threat from the Tories, who'd prefer we all went Sky. Though they've had to back off a bit, what with the Murdoch empire being in a bit of hot water over phone hacking.

Power to the Beeb!

Sam
