Default Best AV remote for circa £120

Is the Harmony One+ still about the best remote in this price range?

I need to control about 6 devices, use of macros and maybe a plug and lights.

Agreed.

I bought an all singing all dancing Philips Pronto remote and it is ****! Full touch screen remotes are useless.

Poor ol' Jack stick to your fanboy topics, at least there you can rely on your knowledge rather than feeble comebacks.

I reckon you must just sit at your computer screen with a box of popcorn and a big grin.

Actually no, not the Harmony One+, for a reason that also makes smartphone solutions hazardous - it's too easy to press the wrong 'button' when using the touchscreen, especially when doing something important like trying to press 'Keep' in the Sky+ planner, and you accidentally hit 'Delete'. This becomes even more dodgy at night in the dark, or when a bit drunk, or whatever.

YMMV, but I have a One+, and it's always an act of considerable care when trying to delete programs. I would instead recommend any of the other Logitech remotes that meet your requirements, as they all have hard buttons for the commonly-used red/green/yellow/blue. Given a choice either the 900 if you and stretch to it, as that appears to be a One+ but updated, or the 700 if you can't.

I also have the Harmony One and actually moved the yellow button off the touchscreen as it is far too easy to hit the wrong one, it's the bottom left key now, * I think.

That said it is brilliant for me and has replaced 4 remotes, it does an okay job with my HTPC.

Never realised you could change key assignments like that - that'll be worth looking into then.

Take it that's done through the Logitech software?

You can customise the key assignments to anything you want. Yep you just go through the software. You can change any button and the touchscreen.
