Nasty crash during indycar finale
British driver Dan Wheldon involved.
Think its worst crash iv ever seen, cars flying through the air, it was like a scene from that film Driven.

Yes. Cars are travelling very fast and are very close together. Not seen one as bad as this in open wheel racing for a while...if ever. Cars are not really designed to hit the fence upside down at the back.
I've a horrible feeling about this.......anyone remember seeing Greg Moore crash?

RIP Dan
Do Indy cars not run the foam filled fuel cells like F! cars then
There seemed to be a lot of cars exploding on impact

Saddening news
Indycar is pretty safe (for motorsport which is never 100% safe of course) although not quite as advanced as F1, but once you throw ovals with concrete walls in to the mix and far more cars on the track than in F1 it is always going to be more dangerous!

Horrific accident
RIP Danny
I remember Daniel Wheldon as a 6 or 7 year old blonde haired nipper tearing it up at Rye House (amongst other tracks) on a Sunday afternoon on a regular basis in Kadet class, within a few laps he'd be well clear of the field a genuine talent even at that age. I saw a lot of him at that time because my mate was racing in National Class IIRC, most races were the same for him, clear of the field within a matter of laps and on to an easy win, it wasn't the equipment it was the driver.
A very sad day to see his life and career over so suddenly..
