Woo-Hoo! I'm back!
Got to the house in France to find that France Telecom/Orange had once again turned off my phone/internet, saying I hadn't paid my bill.
How strange, since I had also received a letter saying my internet/pjhone was suspended at my request from 1st September. And guess what? The two letters, one paying the bill, one requesting the suspension, were in the SAME ENVELOPE!
Still took the wnakers 5 days to get my internet back on

Unfortunately it's the only internet provider who offer you a service that can be discvonnected when you aren't here.....so saving quite a few €€€€.
They also are in partnership with France Telecom, who own all the lines down which 90% of the internet services come, via ADSL, since France is VERY rural.
So....yes, you could go with Alice, or SFR or one of half a dozen others, BUT..........if there is a problem with the line, FT just shrug and say, "We'll get to it......maybe next week". If you are with Orange FT, you get it done quicker.
There is a new SATELLITE service opened recently, I'm going to check it out. According to the guy who installed my UK TV sat, it works well, but again, I'd have to pay even when not here

Ha! Ha!
But after Gordon's Puny £, we have to watch EVERYTHING, since ALL bills here are now 60% dearer than when we bought, NOT INCLUDING French inflation
It's driven a LOT of people home to the UK
I now bring LOADS of stuff from the UK, from insulation to coffee, from washing powder to tools and screws. Count the centimes and the € mount up
