F**king Flash Player - Is Jobs right?
I've just been uploading some pictures to my photobucket account, and now they have an embedded advert that plays, very loudly, every time I upload a picture
No mute button, No volume control, No stop button, and completely drowning out the music I've chosen to have playing

Flash is as good or bad as the programmer writing with it, but I'd never be without this online:
Flashblock :: add-on
Flashblock :: add-on

Once you start using a Flash blocker you'll realise just how little you'll miss Flash when it's gone. If it's a good one it'll offer up HTML5 alternatives for video. The rest is just adverts.

Even Microsoft are ditching Flash in it's new mobile OS Metro. Old tech, past its sell by date, clinged onto by Apple-haters making them look silly as usual.

Like nearly all Adobe products its become bloatware, Adobe Acrobat reader X is HUGE now and takes ages to load. Flash too is resource hungry and as Jack mentioned, most video sites offer HTML5 alternatives (even some of the more spicier websites or so I've been told )
Dump flash and get 2 extra hours battery life
Mobile Flash Fail: Weak Android Player Proves Jobs Right
Flash is not really part of my web experience any more and since I surf a lot on my iPad, I do notice when a website is reliant on flash. These are normally small restaurants with nearly 100% flash content, some of the BBC content, Empire Cinema booking system and of course those annoying flash adverts (which I don't miss!)
I dont think Flash is finished yet, but given the sheer number of IOS devices out there, a web developer would be foolish to exclude those users from any content.
As an example of HTML5 ability, take a look at http://mugtug.com/sketchpad/
and just for balance, theres still life in the old dog yet, http://www.wechoosethemoon.org/ and http://www.syfy.com/tinman/oz/

Whilst you all bang on, and wax lyrical about the pro's and cons of Flash,
you cannot escape the fact that there are lots of machines out there that run flash, and the users of those machine's havnt got a clue whats running in the fore or background, if they get a message saying update flash, then update they will, 90% of time automatically.
And as for jACK , he dosent care if a machine got flash or not, he's just angry that he got stiched up with his pod's NOT having flash ...
You know the scene...
Silky salesman, flash hmm .... we have somthing similar.... 90% effectivity.... but it will be improved on an update ... early adopter.... dont want to be the old kid on the block now do we...

I dont believe this has ever been a sales strategy of Apple (for which I assume you are refering to) or indeed any manufacturer.

Everyone has Apple to thank for the early demise of Flash. More nails get driven in every day.
What makes me laugh are the people that love Flash seem to bang on about Apple having closed proprietary systems, oh the irony.
