Red face Not a great day...

...just found out I have to do tax returns from 06 to present, even though I was on PAYE when I briefly lived in UK in 07. Rest of the time was overseas and paying income tax overseas. Now back of course in the UK from last tax year.

Had some fines accumulating so paid them off.

I'm sure I don't owe HMRC any money just is a major PITA, tying to gather my paperwork ATM.

****ING ****!

I'll need to fill the Capital Gains sections in but I'm confident I'm below the thresholds every year....having to order translation records now.

Deep breaths.....

A good accountant, in theory, shouldn't cost you a penny.

Is that the best way to do it you reckon?

Will have - or have all the paperwork needed - just give it to them and pay whatever they charge?

It's not a complex tax return really, just needs the capital gains filling in for a moderate number of shares trades.
